After proving she's far from normal, Piper Jones lands a job at By The Inch, a funky Santa Cruz sandwich shop that sells sandwiches measured out by the inch. Piper quickly becomes close to her co-workers. Piper quickly becomes close to her co-workers: : computer geek Jen, in love with someone she's never met; mohawked Priestly on the reluctant brink of adulthood; and Tish,an over-sexed beauty determined to land that perfect ten. Balancing out the mix is shop owner Trucker, an aging hippie who schedules his shift around the tide chart.
